Shakti Sankalp Safar

The Rotary Club of Sibsagar proudly felicitated Rtn. During the District Governor’s Official Visit, Rtn. Dr. Kameswar Singh Elangbam visited the Smart Class Project at Government M.V. School, established by the Rotary Club of Sibsagar with support from The Rotary Foundation District Grant. The District Governor inspected the digital learning facilities and appreciated the club’s initiative in promoting modern education and technology-based learning among students. He interacted warmly with teachers and students, encouraging them to make the best use of the smart classroom for academic growth and skill development. Teachers expressed gratitude for the project, while students enthusiastically shared their learning experiences, making the visit inspiring and memorable for everyone present.

The Rotary Club of Sibsagar proudly honoured vocational awardee Dipali Jain during the District Governor’s visit in recognition of her remarkable contribution to “Srijani,” the club’s women empowerment and vocational training initiative. Her dedication has inspired and supported many underprivileged women in gaining livelihood skills through cutting and stitching training. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dipali Jain also played a vital role in preparing and distributing three-layered protective masks through the “Mukhus” initiative of RC Sibsagar, contributing significantly to community health and safety. Her selfless service, commitment, and compassion truly reflect the spirit of Rotary’s vocational and humanitarian service ideals.

Family Meet New Generation Service

Family Meet

The Installation Ceremony of the Rotary Club of Sibsagar on 5th July 2025 was more than an official function—it was a celebration of fellowship and family spirit, brought alive by the vibrant participation of the Rotarylets. Their musical and dance performances, including soulful songs by Aanushmita and a graceful choreography by Srikriti Bordoloi, won admiration and applause. The Rotarylets, children and grandchildren of Rotarians, infused the evening with color, creativity, and youthful energy, highlighting Rotary’s intergenerational strength. The event also became a true “Family Meet,” with Annes, children, and extended families sharing joy, conversations, and togetherness. The presence of the Rotarylets reminded all that Rotary is not just an organization but a family in action, where every member, regardless of age, has a role and a voice.

HPV Vaccination camp Community Service

HPV Vaccination camp

On 13th July 2025, an HPV vaccination camp was held at the Immunization Centre, Sivasagar Old Hospital building. It was organized by Pratishruti Cancer and Palliative Trust, Dibrugarh in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and FOGSI, with active support from the Rotary Club of Sivasagar, which made all necessary arrangements. The Office of the Joint Director of Health, Sivasagar District permitted the use of the centre, while Health Department staff and nurses assisted in conducting the camp. Present were Panna Bharali, Dr. Bandana Gupta Sarma, Padum Poona Baruah, Dipika Dutta Bordoloi, Surjit Changmai, Utpala Shrutikor Baruah, Ajanta Gogoi Das, Dipa Das, Dr. Bina Das, Dr. Dipamoni Hazarika, Dr. Ranjit Hazarika, Dr. Rajib Baruah, Dr. Anjana Sarma, along with Health Department staff. A total of 59 girls received their first HPV vaccine dose.

Srijani: Empowering Women Vocational Service

Srijani: Empowering Women

Srijani, a vocational cutting and stitching institute established by the Rotary Club of Sibsagar in 2008 with Rotary District Grant support, empowers women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families with livelihood skills. Starting with 8 sewing machines and a handful of learners, it has grown to 16 machines, expanding its reach and impact. The institute offers a 4‑month training course in basic cutting and tailoring, conducted by experienced instructors. On completion, participants receive certificates, boosting their employability and confidence. To further support self-reliance, the club has donated 4 sewing machines to outstanding trainees, enabling them to begin home-based tailoring units. Srijani stands as a model of vocational empowerment, community development, and women-led progress—reflecting Rotary’s commitment to service and dignity.

He praised their energy, creativity, and commitment, noting that they are not only the future of Rotary but also changemakers of today. Their involvement in cultural events, social initiatives, and awareness campaigns was highly appreciated. Each Rotarylet received certificates and mementoes as tokens of recognition. The audience was delighted by their musical and dance performances, which added vibrancy to the evening. President Baruah emphasized youth engagement as a key priority and encouraged senior members to mentor and support Rotarylets in upholding the spirit of service and fellowship.
